The Seed
“Has the Lord has great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices; as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is beer than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams”. 1Samuel 15:22
Obedience to God is a positive and active response to His word. It is the basis of experiencing God and knowing His blessings by his favour. Apparently those who obey God attract his favour and glory which manifests in diverse
ways. The Spirit of obedience is God’s gift you must seek in the place of prayer. One of the things the devil targets in the life of a believer is this special gi. The devil does everything to make us focus our minds on the sacrifices and to pay less attention to obedience. That was the strategy he used to distract Adam and Eve, cause them to lose favour with God and their comfort of the garden in Genesis chapter 3. This singular act of disobedience disconnected them from their God and His blessings which was summarised as the garden of Eden. As the disobedience of Adam brought death, so the obedience of Christ brought life. Life as a garden gives us the opportunity to make our choices to either obey or disobey God. However the holy Spirit is encouraging us to choose obedience over sacrifice.
Prayer
Lord through your Holy Spirit help me to trust you with my heart, and choose obedience over sacrifice.
