BE OF GOOD CHEER

THE SEED

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

The disciples of Jesus were so disturbed when Jesus informed them that He would be leaving soon. They could not imagine him go so soon. However, Jesus reassured them over and over that He would not leave them without a shepherd, He promised them the Holy Spirit. In addition, He promised to leave His peace with them. When Jesus mentioned “my peace”, what they heard was Shalom. Every Jew understands what this word stands for. In fact, they use the word on a daily basis while exchanging greetings. It speaks of prosperity and total well-being. You are a spiritual Jew now that you believe in Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus guarantees you a complete welfare package. Jesus Christ is saying, “I am committed to fixing your health, finances, protection, family and everything that concerns you”, be of good cheer I have overcome.

BIBLE READING: John 14:27-28
