THE SEED
“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; …” 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 ESV
Apostle Paul shared his experience and that of other believers around him with the Church in Corinth. He spoke of the faithfulness of God in all the negative experiences they had. He mentioned being afflicted in every way, yet they remained unbroken in their spirit to keep hope in Christ and in their determination to serve God till the end. Are you facing any affliction at the moment? They were perplexed, meaning that they had situations when they didn’t know what to do, just like you might have experienced or you are experiencing but they were not driven to discouragement because of God’s faithfulness. They also experienced persecution for spreading the gospel of Christ, they were beaten up, thrown to prison, humiliated and neglected by families and friends, but they were not neglected by God, they enjoyed fellowship with the Son and the direction of the Holy Spirit. lastly, Apostle Paul mentioned the highest price of being struck down but the faithfulness of God did not leave them to destruction. Beloved of Christ, whatever you are going through at the moment, if you truly carry the mark of Christ upon your life and you are obedient under Christ’s will you shall be like Mount Zion that can not be removed. Stand in God and you will experience the faithfulness of God.
