Obey God

THE SEED
‘Then Peter and the other Apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men’ Acts 5:29 KJV

Obedience includes performing tasks at the appropriate time and as when due. When it comes to obeying God, it involves following His instructions promptly and without hesitation. Obedience to God may not be as easy as it is said to be. It may go against everything acceptable to society. But one thing is constant: if God says, Do this, and you do it, you are helped all the way. Obedience can be hard, but with God’s help, everyone will think it comes easily. Even when we tell others about our challenges because God is involved, it seems unbelievable. Also, God wouldn’t tell us to do anything that is beyond what He can do through us. Therefore, because he knew we could do it, he gave us the responsibility. God does his work through his people. Many times, when God tells us to take a particular responsibility, maybe from the Holy Spirit, hearing in prayers, or even when he sends someone to us, he wants us to do exactly what he tells us to do. Ease might not be the case; however, God sees us; he knows the end from the beginning. It might not be pleasing in our eyes or even in the eyes of the people around us; it might not even make sense right now. But if we listen and do as he says, no matter how difficult it may seem, he will see us through, as we have obeyed and did not do it with our human discretion.

PRAYER: Dear God, help me to obey you, even when it doesn’t make sense to me yet. Amen.
