LIVING DAILY AS CHRIST’S DISCIPLE

THE SEED

Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (KJV)

We become Jesus’ disciples as a result of accepting him and also willing to submit ourselves to his will. We become a disciple through submission. We submit to God and his will. Submitting our will to God’s will goes down to a scenario whereby you desire to carry out a specific task which might bring a great reward or to acquire a particular property,  but God directed you not to go ahead but give the money for the property acquisition to an underprivileged. Then our obedience to that instruction would make us know whether we have grown to the point where we can submit all to him and been willing to give up anything whatsoever just like Abraham Singing “All to Jesus, I surrender” by giving his only son at an old age for sacrifice to God. It is very easy to say but to act is at times difficult especially when the things we hold dear are at stake. Jesus likewise faced the temptation of yielding to his own will at the peak of fulfilling his earthly assignment, however, God strengthened Him. Therefore, the principal way to live daily as Christ’s disciple is by constantly asking for the help of the Holy Spirit, instead of relying on our strength because without his help, we will only fail.
