STANDING IN AWE OF GOD’S AUTHORITY

THE SEED

“The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, Lord, at the blast of breath from your nostrils.” Psalms 18:15 NIV

Psalms 18:15 vividly describes the awe-inspiring power of the Lord, depicting the exposure of sea valleys and the laying bare of the earth’s foundations at His rebuke. This imagery evokes a sense of God’s majestic authority over creation. It resonates with Job 38:4, where God, speaking to Job, declares, “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you understand.” The Psalmist captures the essence of God’s dominion over the elements, emphasizing His ability to command even the depths of the sea. As we reflect on Psalms 18:15 and Job 38:4, we are humbled by the magnitude of God’s power. It reminds us that our Creator is not only intimately involved in every detail of our lives but also holds the entire universe under His sovereign control. These verses invite us to stand in awe of God’s authority, acknowledging that His breath alone can expose the deepest secrets and lay bare the foundations of the earth. In moments of uncertainty or challenge, let’s find reassurance in the omnipotent God. His power extends beyond what we can fathom, and His sovereign control over creation is a foundation on which we can anchor our faith and trust.
