” And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, …“ Revelation 8:3-4 ESV
“… but the prayers live before God and God’s heart is set on them and prayers outlive the lives of those who uttered them; they outlive a generation, outlive an age, outlive a world.” The above are the revealing words of E. M. Bounds, whose writings on prayer have been a source of inspiration for children of God for generations. Indeed, the prayers of the righteous are forever before the Lord as a testament to their faith in Him. There is no prayer we make to God from a genuine heart and in truthfulness that is not in God’s presence. The revelation of John is a valid witness of this. In his vision, he saw and wrote; ”Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.“ As Christians, we would be doing ourselves a great disservice if we allow ourselves to go weary in prayers, what God requires from us is an enduring prayer life that will outlive us, that will help us and be blessings to generations after us. Jesus prayed for His disciples in John 17 and it is amazing how the prayer is working for us today!
