THE GIFT OF FORGIVENESS

THE SEED
”In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,“ Ephesians 1:7 ESV

Forgiveness is a powerful gift from God. We can give and receive forgiveness as children of God. This gift is Jesus Christ and we also receive forgiveness through Him. According to the opening verse, it is in Jesus that we receive the forgiveness of our trespasses in grace. To be forgiven by God means that our sins have been removed, and restoration has taken place. By God’s gracious gift of forgiveness through Christ, any wrong that we have done is not held against us anymore. God is willing to forgive us through our faith in Jesus Christ. Forgiveness is a beautiful gift that comes with a holistic purpose to touch and change every aspect of our lives. It starts by restoring our relationship with God and providing the path that adopts us into His family. It positions us as a co-heir with Christ and releases the righteousness of God on us to be counted as righteous. It connects us with divine blessings, gives us an everlasting inheritance and makes us a citizen of heaven. How wonderful a gift!

Beloved, the purpose of this great gift is for us to have and live a life that is pleasing first to God, and brethren and be happy with ourselves.
