”But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.“ 2 Peter :18
Apostle Peter implores believers in the scripture above to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” This gives us an understanding that our Christian journey is a journey of continuous growth that opens us to boundless grace and knowledge found in our Lord. The book of Psalms 92 expresses the imagery of believers flourishing and continually bearing fruit in their old age as they remain rooted in God’s presence. This is a result of an intentional will to grow in the knowledge of Christ. We need to cultivate before bearing fruits, in other words, bearing fruits is a sign that we have spent time cultivating and looking after what we have planted. Our spiritual growth is connected to a life that reflects the character and love of Christ. We need to live a life that is worthy of the Lord to be able to sustain visible growth in our spiritual lives. As we navigate the path of spiritual growth, let us not forget the role of God’s Word. Regular engagement with the Scriptures triggers spiritual growth, allowing God’s Word to penetrate our hearts and transform us. Moreover, prayer is an essential aspect of our spiritual cultivation. Therefore, Let us remain rooted in God’s Word, fervent in prayer, and dedicated to a life that bears fruit for His glory.
