DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELVES TO BE DECEIVED

THE SEED

“But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven” Luke 10:20 NLT.

The above verse was Jesus’ response to the 72 disciples when they returned from their missionary trip. They were amazed that even the evil spirits and demons obeyed them when they used the name of Jesus. It may surprise us why Jesus told them not to rejoice over this, rather they should rejoice that their names are written in the Book of Life. This is a warning to us that when we see Ministers or Pastors, who operate in the realm and capacity of casting out demons and doing all manner of miracles, this performance alone does not indicate that they are holy or that their salvation is sure and rooted in Jesus Christ alone. Jesus Christ told the disciples that He saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning, which meant that the devil was already defeated by the name of Jesus. Jesus told us in the book of Matthew 7:22-23 that many would be rejected on the last day because they are workers of iniquity, even though they professed to have done many miracles and cast out demons in Jesus’ name. Let our focus as children of God be mainly on our Salvation and not chase after miracles, because many out there are just performers and have no power and fear of God in them. Let us not be deceived.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, I pray that you will help me and fill me with more of your holy spirit so that I will not be deceived in Jesus’ name. Amen.
