“Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord and teachest him out of thy law” Psalm 94:12
Human beings are not wired to enjoy chastisement. Chastisement usually brings pain and discomfort. However, God chastises us because of His love for us and because He wants us to be better. In addition to becoming better children of God, we will enjoy God’s protection, provision and promotion when we joyfully accept God’s chastisement. How can we joyfully accept God’s chastisement? We can do so by accepting our faults, prayerfully asking for grace to obey Him and also making a deliberate effort to turn a new leaf. In what ways have you been chastised by God? Is it through His word (the Bible), His true Servants, personal convictions, by the Holy Spirit? Joyfully accepting his chastisement will surely lead you to a glorious future of peace and abundant blessings in Christ Jesus. A person who refuses to accept the chastisement of God might fall into a pit of utmost destruction. May this never be our portion in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER: My Lord and my God, please give me the grace to joyfully accept your chastisement, so that I can have a glorious future in you, in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
