“Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.” And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.” Luke 8:39 NKJV
Story-telling is a skill I learned recently at a course, and it helps capture people’s attention in a large group or one-on-one. People tend to listen and want to hear the end of the story. Likewise, this skill was used by Jesus as a parable to talk to people and his disciples. In the text, Jesus met the demon-possessed man, who had been tortured for many years. The meeting with Jesus brought a massive change of circumstances in the man’s life. Jesus commanded the evil spirits out of the man’s life; they left the man and went into a herd of pigs, and they perished in a lake. The man wanted to follow Jesus, but Jesus sent him home to tell his people how God restored him. Are you telling other people about the goodness of God in your life? The woman at the well became an evangelist who proclaimed Jesus to others in her town. Have you ever considered using your story as a conversational starter to win souls for Christ? If not, put it to practice; simple things He has done for you are just a spark to light the fire of the love of God in human life. Your story is unique to you, recounting what God has done for you and how His compassion does not fail. You can use different avenues to share your testimony, such as Christian gatherings, celebration events, community events, family occasions, Christian magazines, through your Christian network of friends, etc.

Sisọ itan jẹ ọgbọn ti mo kọ laipẹ ni iṣẹ ikẹkọ kan, ati pe o ṣe iranlọwọ lati pe akiyesi àwọn ènìyàn lati tẹ́tí ni awùjo nla, tabi ọkan-ọkan lati gbọ. Àwọn eniyan tẹ̀ eti lati gbọ, wọn si fẹ lati gbọ opin itan náà. Bẹ́ẹ̀ gẹgẹ Jésù lo irú òwe yí láti bá àwọn ènìyàn àti àwọn ọmọ ẹ̀yìn sọrọ. Obìnrin tó wà ní etí kànga náà di ajíhìnrere ti ó nwàásù Jésù fáwọn míràn ní ilù rẹ̀. Njẹ o ti ronu nipa lilo itan rẹ bi ibẹrẹ ibara ẹni sọrọ lati jere awọn ẹmi fun Kristi? Bi kii ba ṣe bẹ, fi si ojuṣe: awọn ohun ti o rọrun ti Kristi ti ṣe fun ọ jẹ ina kan lati tan ina ti ifẹ Ọlọrun ninu igbesi aye eniyan. Itan rẹ jẹ alailẹgbẹ si ọ, ri ronu àwọn ohun tí Ọlọ́run tí ṣe ati bii aanu Rẹ ko ṣe kuna. O le lo awọn ọna oriṣiriṣi lati pin ẹri rẹ, gẹgẹbi láárín àwọn apejọ pọ Kristiani, awọn ayẹyẹ, awọn iṣẹlẹ agbegbe, awọn iṣẹlẹ nínú idile, awọn iwe irohin Kristiani, nipasẹ ibadọrẹ awọn Kristiani ẹlẹgbẹ́ rẹ lori ẹrọ alagbeka ati bẹẹ bẹẹ lọ.
