THE SEED
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is God, Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2: 8-9(KJV).
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Faith is confidence, the object of faith is God and his promises. Reviewing Abraham’s encounter with God in the Bible, in response to God’s promise of countless descendants, Abraham believed the Lord and He counted it for him as righteousness. Doubts did not make Abraham waver concerning the promise of God, rather he grew stronger in his faith and gave glory to God, fully convinced that God will do what he had promised. Faith means putting your trust in God and having confidence that He will fulfill His promises. Faith works through love to produce tangible evidence of its existence in a person’s life. Faith is important in Christianity, because it is a pathway to a solid relationship with God and without it, we cannot even please Him. Faith is how we receive the benefits of what Jesus has done for us. Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to God, died to pay the penalty for our sinful rebellion against God, and rose from the dead to defeat sin, death and the devil. By putting our faith in Him, we receive forgiveness for our sins, we can then put on His righteousness to please God and receive the gift of eternal life.
