“Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” – Philippians 2:4 (NIV)
As our society changes, we often see a loss of compassion and connection. Jesus warned that in the last days, many would become self-centered, indifferent to others’ needs. Few people ask if their neighbor has enough or look out for the vulnerable—the elderly, the homeless, or the needy. God calls us, His children, to a different way. We are to be mindful of others, caring about their well-being and taking action to help. In doing so, we reflect God’s heart and demonstrate our true identity as His people. Our faith should inspire us to be a source of light and hope in others’ lives.
BIBLE READING: Matthew 25:35-46
PRAYER: Lord, help me to be concerned about the challenges of others. Give me the wisdom and ability to extend a helping hand, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
