CALLING ON GOD FOR ANSWERS
THE SEED
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33: 3 NIV
Life can become overwhelming and distractingly difficult mainly owing to the desires of our heart and daily pursuits. Amid these pursuits, we tend to forget to call on God for assistance and strength. When we face situations, we think of solutions, and if it works, we pat ourselves on the back for a brilliant solution. However, if it fails, we then remember God and berate ourselves “Why did I not ask God first?”. Life throws some unpleasant situations causing a change of circumstances at us e.g financial hardship, health issues, broken relationships with loved ones, career set back etc. These situations affect our peace of mind with uncertainties about the immediate and future living conditions. It is vital to remember the certainties rather than dwell on the uncertainties. These certainties are related to our Spirituality i.e. God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Word of God and prayer. Use these to face and tackle these situations: call on Him in prayer according to Jer 33: 3; remember The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Psalm 34:18; also, your weapons of warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds (2 Cor 10:4). Examples from the Bible: Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns to God at midnight when an earthquake shook the prison and opened the doors, the Church prayed for Peter while he was in prison, and an angel of the Lord appeared to release him. Turn your face to God in prayer for the right way to go and He will surely answer you.
BIBLE READING: Acts 16:25-34
PRAYER: Lord, I turn my face to you today, show me and tell me the right way to go in this period of my life.
