“And wherever he went—into villages, towns or countryside—they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.” Mark 6: 56 NIV
The Bible records another instance in today’s reading, where the hem of Christ’s garment worked wonders with the touch of the afflicted. Commonly, Christians refer to the woman with the issue of blood. She sets precedence in Mark 5:25- 34, where she faithfully touched the hem of the Lord’s garment and received healing. Now, a few days later at Gennesaret, Jesus’ reputation of how the woman with the issue of blood received healing preceded Him. As soon as the people recognised Him, they brought the sick, laid them in His presence and many begged him just for a touch of His garment. Could that be you today? What are the afflictions, long-term sicknesses, problems, and issues you are facing that seem to be never-ending? Just like the woman with the issue of blood for 12 years, (Issue of blood means, a flow that does not stop- a continuous flow) Literally, an issue means an important problem, a concern, a bother! Perhaps there are situations in your life that seem to be constantly there, causing you sorrow and you yearn for hints of solution, please touch the hem of his garment today! Believe He is near you, call on Him for simple solutions to stop the issue of the problem. Rom 10:13, says Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Call on Him, stay in His presence and He will show mercy and command the foundation of your issue to dry up. A personal, passionate prayer can transform every area of your life, enabling you to discover God’s love for you with the confidence to approach God for your needs.
