A TEST OF FAITH
THE SEED
“And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.” – John 6:6 (KJV)
We see Jesus testing Philip’s faith when faced with the challenge of feeding the multitude in the opening Bible verse. Although Jesus already had a solution to the question he asked, He knew the miracle that was about to take place, but wanted to test His disciples how they would respond to such a situation, He asked Philip to consider how the need could be met. This moment reminds us that God often allows tests in our lives, not to harm us, but to strengthen our trust in Him and deepen our understanding of His power. Jesus knew what He was going to do, just as He knows the outcome of every situation we faced. When God tests us, it is an opportunity for us to grow in faith and rely on His provision rather than our limited understanding. Our trials are not beyond God’s control; He uses them to reveal His glory and to show us that He is more than able to meet our needs. Let us remember that when we face tests of faith, God already knows the solution, and He is working all things for our good.
BIBLE READING: John 6:1-14 (KJV) PRAYER: Lord, help me to trust You during the tests of life. Remind me that You already know the outcome and that You are more than able to provide for my every need. Strengthen my faith in You in Jesus’ name. Amen
