A REAL BELIEVER
THE SEED
“But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.” – John 11:22 (KJV)
As believers, we are called to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). But we must be careful not to confuse true faith with mere mental agreement. Mental agreement is when we acknowledge that God is capable, but deep within, we doubt that He will act on our behalf. Martha, the sister of Lazarus, is a perfect example. She believed Jesus could do anything, but she didn’t truly believe He would do it for her. This is not faith; it’s wishful thinking. In John 11:24, her response reveals that she had postponed her expectation to a distant future. When Jesus asked that the stone be rolled away from Lazarus’ tomb, she protested (John11:39), showing that she wasn’t ready to act on the faith she had professed in verse 22. If we believe God’s promises, we must follow through with
obedience. Real faith moves us to act. Don’t just speak like a believer; live like one. Don’t delay God’s move by waiting for the perfect moment. He is ready now. You may look foolish for a while, but those who truly trust in God will never be put to shame.
