“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” John 14:6 (KJV)
There is a difference between being religious and truly knowing Christ. Religion can be full of outward routines, but Christianity is about a living relationship with Jesus. It is not based on how often we attend church or recite prayers; it is about trusting in Jesus as Lord and walking with Him daily. Jesus made it clear: He is the way, not just a way. Faith in Him is not optional for salvation; it is essential. True Christianity centres on Christ, not on rituals or empty traditions. James 1:26–27 warns against lifeless religion: “If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.” God desires a faith that produces love, holiness, and compassion; one that visits the hurting and remains unspotted by the world. The question is not merely, “Are you religious?” but rather, “Do you have a relationship with Christ?” Romans 10:9 answers how this begins: “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Christianity is about knowing Jesus, walking with Him, and reflecting His character in our lives. We must not settle for empty religion; we should embrace a real relationship with Christ.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I don’t want to just follow a religious tradition, I want to know You. Help me walk in true faith, rooted in Your Word and led by Your Spirit. Draw me into a deeper relationship with You, and let my life reflect Your love, truth, and holiness.
