“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.” – Ephesians 4:26–27 (KJV)
We cannot avoid situations or people that may provoke us, but God’s Word warns against holding on to anger. Lingering anger opens the door for the enemy to gain a foothold in our lives. While righteous anger against sin or injustice is permitted, we must be careful that it does not turn into bitterness or offence.
Anger should never be directed at people but at sin itself. Moses was right to be displeased with Israel’s rebellion, but when anger controlled his response, God condemned his action. As followers of Christ, we are called to put on love, forgiveness, and patience. Love empowers us to overlook offences and trust God to be our defender.

PRAYER: Lord, let Your love overflow in my heart so that anger will not find a place in me. Keep me from giving the devil a foothold, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
