THE BLESSING OF OBEDIENCE
THE SEED
“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.” — 1 John 5:3 KJV
Obedience is the visible expression of our love for God. To obey is to align our will with His will, to act on His Word, and to trust His instructions even when they are not fully clear to us. God delights in those who walk in obedience, and He rewards them with His favour. “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:19). Abraham’s example is a perfect illustration. When God told him to leave his father’s house and later to offer Isaac, Abraham didn’t argue or delay—he obeyed immediately. His obedience produced blessings that still speak today. Obedience is not passive; it is an active response to God’s voice. Though we are saved by grace, obedience marks us as true children of God. When we love Him, we keep His commandments. Through obedience, we deepen our relationship with Him and experience His abiding presence. “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching” (John 14:23).
Is there any area where you’re hearing God’s Word but not acting on it?
