FROM USHER TO EVANGELIST

FROM USHER TO EVANGELIST

THE SEED

“And the next day we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.” — Acts 21:8 (KJV)

Philip began his journey in the church as one of the seven deacons chosen to serve tables and distribute food to widows (Acts 6). But his faithfulness in that seemingly small role positioned him for greater assignments in God’s plan. He later took the gospel to Samaria with great signs and wonders. From there, God used him to lead the Ethiopian eunuch to salvation, then transported him supernaturally to Caesarea where he eventually raised a godly family. His life reveals how God can take a surrendered heart and write an extraordinary story with it. Beloved, no one knows how far God can take you if you remain yielded to His purpose. Don’t despise your current assignment; in God’s hands, it may just be the beginning of something greater.

Reflection: God can turn small beginnings into great destinies.
