Deceit And Joy

THE SEED
Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy. Proverbs 12:20
On earth, there are two types of people: those who envision evil and those who envision good. People who fabricate evil against others are liars and will suffer the consequences. With their words and counsel, righteous persons work to promote peace, and God will bless them with pleasant lives. As a result, the “deceit” in the opening text refers to the deception that evil men plan and employ against others, not the self-delusion of individuals who conceive evil. Men will lie to their neighbours in order to take advantage of them, if they have nasty intentions towards them or envy them. A heart that harbours wicked thoughts can do nothing but plot to trick in order to have its way. Corruption and money-laundering are prevalent, when such individuals gain access to top positions, particularly in the government. However, there is hope since there are peacemakers who bring joy to people’s lives. They are those who harbour good intentions; when they hold positions of power, they foster an environment of harmony, joy, and prosperity for all. Keep your heart with all diligence as a remedy for dishonesty since issues of life arise from it (Proverbs 4:23). The contrast between lies and delight is enormous. So let’s advocate for peace today!

PRAYER
O Lord, make me an arbiter of good intentions, promoter of peace. Let me not be a figure of evil intentions against another. Amen.
