THE SEED
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23-24
Many people use the phrase “I love God” to show their admiration for the Lord, but Jesus taught that the only people who genuinely love God are those who follow His rules. So what behaviours demonstrate our love for God? Pray frequently. Jesus emphasised the importance of consistent prayer in the Christian life. However, when we pray for the wrong reasons—those that are focused on what we want instead of what God wants—we are not demonstrating our love for Him. The goal of genuine prayer is to ascertain God’s will in order to carry out His purposes. This type of prayer communicates to God, “I love You,” and is followed by an obedient response. Scripture reading must be followed by application since Jesus said that love is submission. If not, we are merely hearers of the Word (James 1:22). Serve the community and the church. Our efforts are not an expression of love for the Lord if we choose how to serve rather than following the Lord’s instructions. God showed us how much He cared for us by sending His Son, Jesus (1 John 4:9-10). We know how much we love the Father when we submit to His known will. Take action each day to express your love for God.

Oh Lord, give me the grace to love you wholeheartedly and the grace not to look back in my heavenly race, Amen.

Ìsapá wa kì í ṣe ìfihàn ìfẹ́ fún Olúwa bí a bá yàn bí a ṣe lè sìn dípò títe le àwọn ìtọ́ni Olúwa. Ọlọ́run fi bí Ó ṣe nife wa to hàn wá nípa rírán Jésù Ọmọ R (1 Jòhánù 4:9-10). A mọ iye ti a nifẹ Baba ti a ba tẹriba fun ifẹ Rẹ ti a mọ. Ṣe igbese lojoojumọ lati ṣe afihan ifẹ rẹ fun Ọlọrun.
