Anger

THE SEED
“…because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. James 1:20”

ANGER. What does this word mean to you? Anger is a powerful emotion. Often it may drive people to hurt others with words or physical violence. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper, it only leads to harm. Anger, rage, and losing our temper are very destructive emotions. They reveal a lack of self-control which is the fruit of the spirit required of us as children of God and a lack of faith that God loves us and He is in control. Getting angry and flaring up at any little discomfort from people around us doesn’t portray a good image of Christ, it deems the glory of God in our lives or eliminates it. If we allow anger to be a way of expressing our disagreement or discomfort, the devil can use it against us to lose divine opportunities in life and drive away our destiny helpers. If vented thoughtlessly, anger can hurt others and destroy relationships, if bottled up inside, it can cause us to become bitter and destroy us from within. The most dangerous disadvantage is that it puts us in danger of hellfire.

BIBLE READING: James 1:16-21

PRAYER: God, I rebuke the spirit of destructive anger, lose your hold on my life in Jesus’ name! Amen!
