A New Heart

THE SEED
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26

The phrase ‘New Year Resolution’ is one of the most common phrases often said at the beginning of a new year. Statistically, over 80% quit their resolutions or regress within the first three months. Disappointingly, this is also true for spiritual resolutions. The mistake many people make is that they want to force a new life on a weak spiritual system. Jesus aptly describes this as ‘pouring a new wine into an old wineskin’. Brethren, there can be no meaningful change until the Spirit of the Lord works upon your heart, from where the issues of life spring from. You must receive a spirit that is conditioned to love the holy and righteous laws of the Lord.Perhaps, you want to forsake certain habits or lifestyle this year in a bid to become closer to God. Let God operate on your heart. He knows your weaknesses and imperfections and He alone can make you whole. You need yield your heart to him in prayer, fasting and consistent meditation on the word of God. He will put a new heart and a new spirit within you.
