“For I know that the Lord is great, and that our Lord is above all gods.” Psalm. 135: 5 KJV
Elijah knew that only the true God would start the fire. The priests of baal prayed to their god from morning till noon, but nothing happened, Elijah joked with them and said whether their god baal must be asleep. and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god, either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awakened. The priests grew angry, jumped on the altar, cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, with so much water around the altar. Elijah prayed and said Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that yaaou, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again,
Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, licked up the water that was in the trench. The people of Israel bowed down and declared the Lord as God. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and they said, the Lord, He is the God, the Lord, He is the God. Great is our Lord, His power is absolute, His understanding is beyond comprehension. It reminds us that we serve a God who is infinitely powerful and holy, but who also cares for us on a deep and personal level. So do you believe your Creator is the only true God? No other god is like our God, do not look elsewhere for that miracle or for all the good things you desire, the warfare you want to overcome and so many other unfriendly situations you need solutions to, our God is capable and His power is above all Powers, allow Him to have His way in your life and you will never remain the same.

PRAYER: Lord, release upon me a strong faith to know you and abide in you forever as the only true God. Amen.
