AN OBEDIENT LIFE

to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. (Hebrews 11:8)

AN OBEDIENT LIFE

THE SEED

“By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going” Hebrew 11:8

Obedience simply means following an instruction. Our father Abraham obeyed God and it was counted unto him for righteousness, a life that obeys God runs far away from sin and does things that only pleases God. He instructed Abraham to sacrifice his only son, it was a huge decision for him, but he knew the God he served. He took a bold step and called his son to pack the sacrificial items and the son asked what about the lamb, he said God will provide it, he believes God and oh yes God provided a ram instead of his son. He is called the father of nations. Living a life that obeys God not only benefits us, but the blessings are also passed down to generations. The Israelites enjoyed the benefits of their forefathers, God remembers the promises He made to them. We should also obey God and keep His commandments. He said whoever loves Him will keep his commandments, we can only obey Him when we allow the Spirit of God to dwell in us, read the word of God and abstain from sin.

BIBLE READING: Hebrews 11:8-10
