BE TRANSFORMED, NOT JUST EXCITED

THE SEED

“The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word.” Matthew 13:20–21 (NLT)

Excitement can ignite an emotional spark, but it is not enough to sustain a believer’s walk with God. Transformation, not just momentary zeal, is what God desires from us. In the parable of the sower, Jesus illustrates how some receive the Word with joy but fall away when difficulties arise because they lack deep roots. Many believers have had moments of spiritual excitement ; after a powerful sermon, during worship, or through a testimony. But without personal commitment, discipline, and a deep foundation in God’s Word, that initial excitement fades. God doesn’t just want us to feel good about His Word; He wants us to be changed by it. True transformation happens when we submit to God’s Word daily. It shapes our thoughts, molds our character, and strengthens our faith. Excitement fades, but a transformed life endures. Are you living off fleeting emotions, or are you rooted in lasting transformation?

PRAYER: Lord, help me not only to rejoice in Your Word but to be truly transformed by it. Renew my mind and mold my heart to walk in obedience daily. Amen.
