CHOOSING JOY IN EVERY SEASON

THE SEED
“Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say, rejoice!” Philippians 4:4 (NKJV)

Joy is a choice, not just an emotion. It is a decision to focus on God’s goodness, even when circumstances are challenging. Apostle Paul’s call to “rejoice always” was not written from a place of comfort but from a prison cell. Yet his spirit remained unshaken because his joy was rooted in Christ, not in his surroundings. Joy is different from happiness. Happiness depends on what happens to us, but joy flows from what we know about God. It is the deep, unshakable confidence that He is in control, that His promises are true, and that our hope in Him is secure. As we choose joy, we become a powerful testimony to the world; a reminder that the light of Christ can shine even in the darkest places. Take a purse and ask yourself, Do I choose joy always instead of allowing circumstances to dictate my peace and perspective?

BIBLE READING: James 1:2 4
PRAYER: Lord, teach me to rejoice in every season. Let my joy be rooted in Your unchanging nature and eternal promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
