DISCOURAGING FACES

THE SEED

“Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord” Jeremiah 1: 8 (KJV)

God told Jeremiah in this passage to keep the focus on Him, to only concentrate on the God who predestined and chose him for prophethood. There will always be those who will look down on us and count our words as nothing. When we are doing the work God has given us, they will come to you with negative comments, aimed at discouraging you. God says we should not be afraid of them, they plan to throw us off balance and turn us into a people-pleaser rather than a pleaser of God, our Father in Heaven, we end up missing His perfect will for our lives, may we not fall into such. Being a pleaser of people comes with the consequences of losing God. If we allow people’s attitudes, utterances and body language to dissuade us from focusing our attention on doing God’s work, then we should get ready to face God’s rejection. This is established in verse 17 of Jeremiah Chapter 1, where God told the Prophet Jeremiah that “Do not be terrified by them or I will terrify you before them.” Beloved, we need not fear people because they can not save us, but we need to always pay our allegiance to God who called us, can deliver us and will always be our aid in times of difficulty, as long as you are doing what He called you to do.This is the confidence that allows us to always speak and act in truth.

BIBLE READING: Jeremiah 1: 1-8

PRAYER: Lord, please strengthen me that I may focus on you and not be swayed by the harsh opinions of those who wish to discourage me in the Ministry you have given me. Be my deliverer and helper always in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
