Do Not Violate Your Body (1)

THE SEED
“You say, “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will destroy them both.” The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.” 1 Corinthians 6:13 NIV

“Give your water to one who deserves it”, was a piece of advice to a young girl in the film “My Dream” by Mount Zion production. She had been fornicating with the son of this Christian woman, who eventually gave his life to Christ, and he ended their immoral relationship. In Genesis, Dinah, the daughter of Jacob, went out to visit the women of the land, Dinah walked with the wrong people and gave her water inappropriately. Her freedom to roam about caused her the pride of her purity and the whole messy affair also caused the death of a lot of men in the city. As a young person in Christ, use your body to glorify God as you await the greater plan He has for you. Many people have missed it through fornication, they have exchanged the glory that God has given them for flesh-satisfying moments. Apart from the biblical warning, it is not beneficial for ones health as it can lead to sexually transmitted diseases like Aids, syphilis etc and these have the potential to cause permanent or temporary health issues E.g., untreated chlamydia causes infertility in future leading to barrenness. As given in Dinah’s example, her integrity and family’s was at stake with such behaviour. Being a fornicator shows you do not love your own body, it is a sin against your body not against anyone else’s, 1 Corinthians 6:18, You do not have the right to violate your body as you like as it belongs to God. If you are also able to wait, God will show you and lead you to recognise the right partner who will appreciate the water you offer at the appropriate time.
