THE SEED
“You were bought at a price. Therefore, honour God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6: 20 NIV
The Bible says that everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. Sin enslaves, i.e., the person is under the control of sin, thereby forming a chain of sin. The urge to please the world and conform to the practices of the world leads to sin and makes one a slave of the world. Violating the body is a form of treating the body with disrespect. God has redeemed our body and soul; and our body has now become the temple of the Holy Spirit, to be honoured and revered. Any attempt to add on or modify the body is a form of disrespect to the temple of God. Entertaining the notion of modifying the work of God in response to suggestions from friends or trying to be like the celebrities we see around is the beginning of enslavement. However, if you do not control the thought, it becomes manifest, and you start to lose your sleep until you carry the act out. This is a typical example of becoming a slave of the world. The world only offers temporal things, and in the process, you become enslaved and start to sin. There are many ways through which the world justifies their sinful act, e.g. tattoo marks- Leviticus 19:28. Piercing noses, navels, tongues, private body parts, breast implants, tummy tucks etc. Critically consider your reason for wanting to commit such against your body, does it look like it can ever glorify God? If not, ditch the idea and bless God for what He has given to you. Corrective restoration for medical purposes is an exemption. For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love Gal 5:13

PRAYER: I capture and destroy all thoughts and ideas that can enslave me in Jesus’ name. Amen
