DON’T LOSE YOUR GUARD
THE SEED
“Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.”2 Peter 3:17 (KJV)
In our Christian journey, temptations are inevitable. As believers, we must remain vigilant and steadfast, guarding against anything that could lead us astray, hence the warning in 2 Peter 3:17. The devil, being bold enough to tempt even our Lord Jesus Christ, is relentless in his attempts to lead us astray. This is why it is essential to put on the full armour of God, enabling us to withstand challenges and remain firm. When trials or the allure of worldly pleasures come, we must keep our focus on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Prayer and unwavering commitment to God are vital in overcoming these challenges. In these troubled times, it is crucial to guard our hearts, minds, and spirits. Victory is assured for true children of God because we serve a Father whose power surpasses that of our adversaries. Let us strive to maintain our place in heaven and secure the crown of glory awaiting us. Like the servants awaiting the coming of their master, whether it is during the day or in the night let us not lose our guard to be met prepared. We cannot afford to be complacent, like the five foolish virgins who ran out of oil, or like Peter, who denied Jesus three times before realizing his error and repenting. Thanks to Jesus’ compassion, Peter was restored. Let us learn from these examples and remain vigilant, ensuring that we do not lose our guard or compromise our faith.
