FAITH AND TRUST

FAITH AND TRUST
THE SEED
“He will not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.” Psalm 112:7 (NKJV)

Faith and trust are deeply connected. Faith is believing in God regardless of the circumstances, while trust is the practical application of that faith. Trusting God means surrendering our worries, fears, and control to Him, and acknowledging His goodness, wisdom, and sovereignty. Having faith and trust in God does not guarantee a life without challenges, but it equips us to face trials with courage, hope, peace, and patience, knowing that God is always with us. As we rely on Him, our spiritual roots grow deeper, our hearts are strengthened, and our relationship with Him becomes more intimate. Trusting God also gives us confidence that He is working everything out for our good, even when we cannot see the full picture. The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego is a powerful example of unwavering trust in God. When faced with King Nebuchadnezzar’s demand to worship a massive idol, they refused, remaining steadfast in their devotion to God. Despite being thrown into a fiery furnace heated seven times hotter than usual, they trusted God completely, declaring, “He will rescue us… but even if He does not, we will not serve your gods.” God miraculously intervened, sending an angel to protect them. They walked unharmed in the furnace, while the flames consumed those who threw them in. Witnessing this, King Nebuchadnezzar praised their God, declaring, “There is no other god who can rescue like this.”
