GOD, MY PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL SHIELD

THE SEED

“My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart.” Psalms 7:10 NIV

What does a shield do? It’s a protective instrument that is designed to protect the user from harmful weapons from the enemy. For a shield to do its work, it must be worn when needed otherwise it is of no use to the owner. Bringing this knowledge to our Christian life, God through Christ is our shield, our protector from all spiritual and physical harm. It is our responsibility as children of God to put on Christ as our shield at all times so as to be protected from the flaming arrows of the enemy that might be shot at us anytime. According to Apostle Paul, we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places. They have their evil plans spiritually to attack us before executing them physically. This is why we should depend totally on God who has dominion over both domains and trust the Holy Spirit’s instinct at all times to direct us away from the enemy’s attack. We should grow to know and understand the Holy Spirit’s instructions in directing us away from impending danger or the enemy’s traps on our path. The way to put on the spiritual shield is by walking in uprightness of heart and in obedience before God at all times, as well as reading God’s word consistently and praying without ceasing, by doing these we would be making provision to receive constant protection from God.

BIBLE READINGS:  Ephesians 6:10-13

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, please help me to make you my shield by putting you on always to receive the appropriate defence when needed. Amen
