THE SEED
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9
God is sovereign, which means that nothing or no one can prevent the execution of His plan. The overall plan that God has for all of eternity, His eternal plan, cannot be stopped. God’s plan will be carried out in His way and at His appointed time, regardless of our decisions or acts of obedience or disobedience. This is a challenging theological idea on a human level, yet it is really straightforward on a faith level. God uses the mistakes we make for good. He nevertheless subjects us to a period of discipline. We are given time during this interval to idly consider our prior errors, learn to act morally, learn to rely on God, and cultivate patience and self-control. When faced with challenges, it is simple to feel tempted to give in. Even though we are aware that doing so would be the wrong thing, it is simple to be tempted to attempt and placate people who are the source of our suffering. But in trying circumstances, what is required is persistent obedience, which God will always reward. Maybe this is a challenging time in your life right now. There are a variety of arenas where it might be. Perhaps it has to do with money, and you are tempted to cheat God by not giving Him the ten percent that is His. Maintain your position and follow the Lord’s commands, and He will ultimately bless you for doing so.
PRAYER
Oh Lord help me to subject my will to your perfect plans for my life.
