“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save many people alive.” – Genesis 50:20 (KJV)
In Genesis 50:20, Joseph declares the redemptive power of God’s divine intervention. Despite the initial evil intentions of his brothers, God allowed the events for good. Matthew 18:16-17 guides us in resolving conflicts within the Christian community, emphasizing the importance of reconciliation. Just as Joseph forgave and embraced reconciliation, Christ urges us to seek resolution with a sinning brother. By following this process, we honour the principles of love, forgiveness, and restoration within the body of believers. God’s transformative power can turn discord into an opportunity for redemption and unity.
In times of conflict, let us remember the lessons from Genesis 50:20, trusting that God can bring good out of adversity. May we approach reconciliation with a spirit of humility and love, seeking restoration within the fellowship of believers?
