HONOUR THE WORD OF GOD
THE SEED
“Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him. Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” — Proverbs 30:5–6 (KJV)
The Word of God is not a collection of suggestions or stories; it is the living truth, sacred and eternal. Yet many today make light of it: disregarding its commands, altering its meaning, or living as though it holds no authority. God’s word is sacred, powerful, and life-giving. However, when believers take it lightly; whether by ignoring it, twisting its meaning, or failing to live by it; we risk spiritual blindness and separation from God. Jesus declared, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35). God’s Word stands forever. When we ignore it, we deceive ourselves. Hearing alone is not enough; it is in the doing that our lives are transformed. To take God’s Word seriously is to live by it; reading it with reverence, studying it diligently, and submitting our hearts to its truth. The Word is not just informative; it is transformative. It is our guide, our guard, and our standard. We must never add to it, twist it, or treat it casually. To do so invites error, confusion, and eventual ruin. But to honour God’s Word is to walk in light, wisdom, and safety. The more we cherish it, the more we reflect God’s will in our everyday lives. Beloved, let’s hold fast to the Word of life, allowing it to shape our thoughts, govern our actions, and lead us into deeper fellowship with the Father.
BIBLE READING: James 1:21–25
PRAYER: Father, help me to honour Your Word in all that I do. Give me a heart that reveres Your truth and a life that lives it out. May I never take Your Word lightly, but treasure it daily as my guide and strength. Amen.
