“Judge not, that ye be not judged.” Matt 7:1
In many instances of life, there are more to cases or issues of life than meets the eye. We often tend to judge people or issues of life by the flesh or physical situations and are unaware of spiritual undercurrents that brought about the situation. When people experience negative traits in life or things don’t work out the way we expect them to, more often than not, we judge the person or people involved negatively. They are attributed to sins they or their ancestors have committed. In today’s text, even the question the disciples of Jesus asked is laced with judgment already i.e. if it’s not the sin of the parents, then it is the sin of the man. However, our God is omniscient, he knows all things, so he revealed that none of them have sinned, but for God to be glorified. You can imagine the kind of ridicule the entire family had gone through over the years. The same situation, Job faced with his friends. Never judge a book by its cover, if you don’t know the beginning of a story or the whole story, stop judging it.
