Keep Your Calm

THE SEED

“If your ruler becomes angry with you, do not hand in your resignation; serious wrongs may be pardoned if you keep calm.” Ecclesiastes 10:4 GNT

The above scripture becomes relevant in a place of righting your wrong with others, especially those who have authority over us, as a child to parents, as subordinate to our boss at work, as a Church member to our Pastor, and of cause as wives to husbands. It is wisdom to be calm with people in authority over us. As Christians, we are called to project Christ, and we can’t behave like the one that has no Christ. It is rude and unacceptable before God to think you can argue your way through your wrongdoing with anyone stronger than you or above you. God can only work with you in your humility and calmness. Even when you’re wrongly accused, with a calm disposition you may be allowed to explain yourself. And when you are in the wrong, don’t allow pride or shame to make you act or say things that will provoke unfavourable decision-making. Just like the scripture says, “serious wrongs may be pardoned if you keep calm”. Remember always that anyone in authority does not appreciate people arguing with them.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, give me the spirit of calmness to address all situations, especially with people that are in authority over me. Amen
