Living In Freedom

THE SEED

“Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.” 1 Peter 2:16 ESV

Freedom might mean different things to different people, many nations received their freedom from the colonial masters after so many years and they are now free to have their own government to take their own decisions. To a sick person, freedom means total healing from their sickness. Freedom is no doubt a great feeling, but to a child of God, living in freedom goes beyond the privilege to have physical barriers and boundaries removed. It means freedom from the flesh to dictate to our spirit. It means total liberation of our spirit from the bondage of sin and canal interests. It means that we are in a relationship with God.

As a Christian, when our spirit is free, nothing really matters. We might have great challenges, but we will enjoy the peace and presence of God. We will not fear but will sing the songs of victory like Apostle Paul and Silas in the physical prison. We might not be rich, but we will have joy in our hearts that riches cannot buy. It is important to take in the meaning of our freedom and understand that after Jesus has set us free, we must continue to live our lives in the divine freedom given to us and never hide under our identity as Christians to do evil or allow sin to take us back to bondage again.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, help me not to expose my freedom in you to the bondage of sin. I’m free indeed.
