LOVE IS KIND
THE SEED
This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12(NKJV)
Love is not only kind, love is patient, love is gentle, love is tolerating other people and not being easily provoked, love is considering other people’s wants and feelings and not being selfish, love is sharing what you have with people who do not have and caring for other people around you, love is not judgmental, love is not proud. The bible says ” You shall love your neighbour as yourself”. Loving our neighbour does not necessarily mean loving only the people that live close to us or are around us, it means loving every person we come in contact with. And if we will love our neighbours as ourselves, we won’t do what we do not want to be done to us to our neighbours. Love is a fruit of the spirit as evident in Galatians 5 and as children of God, we should make clear this fruit everywhere that we are and go to, whether in our workplaces, churches to mention a few, God himself is love. He loved and still loves us so dearly that He sent His only begotten son to die for us so that we may not perish but have everlasting life with Him, if we believe in His son Jesus Christ. How many of us can decide to lay down our lives for our friends? But God, because of his deep love for mankind, sent His son to die for us, for our sins and guilt that we might be saved. In conclusion, we should be accommodating, generous, kind, and above all loving towards one another and not expect anything in return that people may see this fruit(Love) in us as Christ-like.
BIBLE READING: 1 Corinthians 13:1-13
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, we ask that you help us to love our neighbours as ourselves, as Christ loves us. Amen.
