THE SEED
“Whoever digs a pit may fall into it; whoever breaks through a wall may be bitten by a snake…” Ecclesiastes 10:8-9 NIV
Most of the time we Christians make use of the above opening bible verses as a divine weapon against our enemies and adversaries that might be causing us discomfort to make progress in life. In as much as this is appropriate, it is also true that we might be at the wrong side or receiving end of the same scripture. If as Christian we are not careful or apply wisdom
to deal with situations in our relationship with other Christians we might be unconsciously digging a pit for others or attacking a helpless child of God and this will expose one to the
fulfilment of the scripture. A perfect example of this scenario is the situation in which King David found himself after listening to the message of God through Prophet Nathan. King David ignorantly jumped to the conclusion of giving judgment over the rich man that had everything but took the only lamb that belonged to a poor man to entertain his visitor. King David, a man after God’s heart, became vulnerable to receiving the negative penalty. As a child of God, we will be walking into a trap if we allow sin to push us into doing and saying unacceptable things to others, especially Christians.
PRAYER
Father in Jesus’ name, help me to walk in wisdom, knowledge, and truth to avoid hurting people around me. Amen
