OVERCOMING THE DEVIL’S TEMPTATION

OVERCOMING THE DEVIL’S TEMPTATION

THE SEED
“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 KJV

Temptation is a trial in which we must choose between faithfulness and unfaithfulness to God. Temptation often comes through deception, doubt, seduction, and provocation. Devil, the accuser, uses temptation to lure us into sin. The Bible identifies three key channels of temptation: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 John 2:16). To overcome these, we must be vigilant, avoid environments that foster temptation, and replace sinful thoughts with God’s Word. Submitting to God, resisting the devil, and praying for strength are critical. As we depend on God, we gain the power to stand firm against the devil’s schemes.

BIBLE READING: Psalm 1:1-6
PRAYER: Lord, strengthen me against the temptations of the flesh and the devil. Keep me steadfast in Your truth in Jesus’ name, Amen.
