“But, the Lord is with me as a mighty terrible one; therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail; they shall not prosper; their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten. Jeremiah 20:11 KJV
Discouragement is part of life. It comes most often when you do the right things but experience poor results. You work hard and tirelessly, but without progress. Many things can cause discouragement; it is one of the tools the devil can use to cripple us in our faith and service to God. Jesus does not want us to be discouraged; in fact, he commands us not to be. Frequently, in our discouragement, we look inward to our problems, frustrations, and situations when we need to look upward to God who has not abandoned nor forsaken us. He accompanies us, he is a present-tense God. Discouragement can appear in any form. It could be from your friends, family, neighbours, church members, pastors, and even from yourself. Disassociate yourself from anyone or anything that can discourage or bring you down. Associate yourself with positive-minded people. As a child of God, God wants us to talk to him, even when we are angry, upset, depressed, and frustrated. He wants us to tell the truth; tell him how you are feeling, he is ready to get into the situation. Never give the chance to anyone to discourage you. Always remember that you have a God that knows the end from the beginning. Be watchful; know that the Lord is with you. Hallelujah.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, grant me the grace to look upward to you from now and forever. Amen.
