THE SEED
But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as first fruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.2 Thessalonians 2:13
Did you know that God’s plan of salvation isn’t only about getting you out of hell and into heaven? His top objective is to make you more like Jesus (Romans 8:29). But we must work alongside God in order for Him to accomplish anything. Unfortunately, a lot of Christians tolerate sin and find reasons to justify it. You started your walk with Jesus when you were saved, but you also entered into a battle with Satan. Someone who loves the Lord and spreads His word is the last thing our enemy desires. However, a lot of Christians don’t live a holy life. In fact, some of them resemble the non-believing world in appearance and behavior. The apostle Paul especially addressed sexual immorality in today’s chapter as one area of compromise. However, we should avoid everything that prevents us from leading a good life. Have you permitted anything into your life that you shouldn’t have? If so, keep your distance from it right away. You don’t want a small sin to grow into a rope, then a chain, and ultimately a cable that ensnares you in a fortress. Return to the Lord and allow your sanctification to progress.
PRAYER
Oh Lord, give me the power to forsake Satan and sin, give me the power to live a holy life so that I can be saved and be your disciple, Amen.
