SERVE GOD WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART

SERVE GOD WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART

THE SEED

“No one can serve two masters. either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24 NIV

Make a conscious effort to set your priority right by laying up your treasure in heaven rather than accumulating endless wealth on earth. That said, as Christians, the plan of God is for us to enjoy the good things of life in alignment with His will but we are  not to make them our priority to the detriment of our eternal destination. Which of these; wealth, fame, or riches is competing with the place of God in your life?  In our bible reading, Matthew 6: 19-24, Jesus told the disciples not to make earthy treasures their priority, rather, they should focus more on acquiring external treasures. The reason is that you cannot serve God and money. Money should be our servant in the service of God, not a god to which we owe allegiance as slaves. The concept of split allegiance is given in James 1:8. It says that a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. The desire to accumulate wealth should not compete with one’s devotion to God. However, the tendency seems to be natural with all humans but as believers, we should have the responsibility of serving humanity in love, giving total commitment to God and worshiping Him with passion every day. Therefore, let your focus be more on serving God with your whole heart in all you desire to pursue in life.
