“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.” Mark 16:17
Our God is God of wonders as the Creator and Sustainer of all things. God has the power to suspend natural laws to fulfil His purposes. Jesus said that without signs and wonders, people won’t believe in the Gospel. He promised that those who believe will be followed by the manifestation of His power through signs and wonders. Jesus never said that these signs would simply follow Christians. He said they would follow those who truly believed them to happen. Signs and wonders are activated by faith. Some people seek after signs and wonders because they want confirmation of the truth of God. God willingly gave signs to Moses. Many people saw the miraculous signs that Moses performed and believed in God but some didn’t.
Jesus said that blessed are those who have not seen, yet have believed. God does give the believer signs and wonders, however, we are not to live our lives constantly seeking after signs and wonders. We should grow up asking God for spiritual guidance and He will reveal Himself to us in ways that supersede our imagination.
