Stealing, Laziness And Vulgarity

THE SEED
Let him who steals, steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with hishands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Ephesians 4:28-29

Stealing has no place in a Christian’s life. We are called to work honest jobs, so that we may have more than enough and be able to bless others who are in need, for one reason or another. From Acts 20:35b, we learn that “‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’” as Jesus said. Foul, profane, worthless and vulgar speech have no place in our vocabulary or on our lips. When we live for Jesus, it is revealed in our behavior and speech also. Our speech should comfort, counsel or build others up according to the circumstances, so that it blesses all who hear. Many times, when in the natural we would have reasons to speak harsh, if we choose to obey God, using the right words, we might offer grace and mercy to the one we talk with and have a good impact on those who witness it.

BIBLE READING: Colossians 3:8-10

PRAYER: Dear Lord, please help me to make an honest living and work not as for people, but as unto You. Please help me to have more than enough so that I may bless those who are in need around me now and for all eternity, amen.
